The Reading List
It’s a pain in the ass to put this together now, so I hope you like it!
NY Magazine on Anne Hathaway - Anne is one of those actresses who has gotten some snark on here, and I have no idea why. Something about rubbing people the wrong way, who knows. Anyway, she seems to be delightful, she’s stunning, and the only flaws I’ve seen are one bad movie with Kate Hudson and falling for a douchebag. And haven’t we all fallen for douchebags at one time or another?
SHE’S IN NYC?!??!? Be still, my heart…
NY Magazine on the retiring Manhattan D.A.
NY Magazine on Joseph Gordon Levitt - Sorry Joe, I’m copping your style and I don’t really care.
NY Magazine on the Segregation of Martha’s Vineyard - Holy crap… REALLY?!?!??!
St. Petersburg Times on Scientology - Thanks to Andrea for linking. This is part 1 of 3… part 2 is out today and part 3 should be Tuesday, I imagine.
Newsweek on the Evolutionary Science of Rape and Cheating - The article deals with the argument that there’s some genetic trait linked to rape and other sex-based crimes.
Newsweek on the Rise of an Ayatollah - Time to catch up on this history.
Newsweek’s Maziar Bahari Detailed Without Charge in Iran - Guy sounds like a great journalist, hope he gets out ASAP.
Newsweek on Obama’s Failed Transparency Promise - I’m gonna keep plugging away with these articles until people start treating him like less of a celebrity and more of a public figure that might deserve some criticism from time to time.
NY Times on Nadal - Posted for Kia UNFing material.
NY Times on Next New Networks - People I know are getting cool press, and in lieu of me never getting cool press, I’ll simply defer to these guys.
Deadspin on Rick Reilly - And they aren’t making fun of him! Sorta… they linked some of his excellent SI columns from back in the day.
Time on South Africa’s Rape Crisis - 1 in 4 men admit that they’ve raped before, almost half of those being multiple offenders. Brutal.
Andrew Sullivan’s Daily Dish - Still doing exceptional work on the Iran crisis.
